How to use the benefit
- Add the eligible card to your Uber account.
- Before a planned ride or order, check that this month's wallet credit arrived.
- Select an Amex card and confirm the credit is applied before paying.
- Record what you actually used before the month ends.
Restrictions and mistakes to avoid
- Unused monthly card-benefit cash expires; it is not an annual bank.
- The eligible basic card benefit does not become a separate allowance for every additional card.
- Delivery charges and an inflated menu price can reduce your real savings.
What is it actually worth?
A hypothetical $22 ride with $15 of available benefit cash leaves $7 to pay. If you were taking that ride anyway, the $15 has useful value. If you ordered an unnecessary meal to spend the credit, the same $15 face value can produce much less personal value.
These examples are hypothetical. Use the purchases you would have made anyway, include remaining charges, and avoid counting the same saving twice.
