Quick facts
- Allowance
- $10 monthly; $120 per year
- Reset schedule
- Each calendar month
- Enrollment / payment
- Add Gold to Uber; select an Amex card at checkout
How to use the benefit
- Add the eligible Gold to your Uber account.
- Check your available wallet balance before a planned ride or order.
- Select an Amex card at checkout and review the applied cash.
- Record actual usage before the month ends.
Restrictions and mistakes to avoid
- Monthly benefit cash does not accumulate into a $120 annual allowance.
- Check account and card eligibility rather than assuming every additional card has its own allowance.
- Ordering more frequently or paying higher delivery prices can erase savings.
What is it actually worth?
A $14 planned ride with $10 available benefit cash leaves $4 to pay. If you use only $6 each month, your personal annual value is $72. An unused $4 each month should not appear in your renewal calculation as money saved.
These examples are hypothetical. Use the purchases you would have made anyway, include remaining charges, and avoid counting the same saving twice.
Common questions
Is this a credit on my Amex statement?
No. Review Uber's wallet and checkout.
Does Gold receive Platinum's December bonus?
Gold's published allowance is $10 monthly. Do not copy the Platinum schedule.
