Amex Gold Dining Credit: How It Works in 2026

Gold's Dining Credit applies to eligible purchases at selected partners, rather than all restaurant spending. Its rules are separate from the card's dining points earnings.

How to use the benefit

  1. Enroll before making the purchase.
  2. Check the current partner list before choosing where to order.
  3. Pay an eligible purchase with the enrolled Gold account.
  4. Check the reimbursement and remaining monthly capacity.

Restrictions and mistakes to avoid

  • Current partners: Grubhub including Seamless, Buffalo Wild Wings, Five Guys, The Cheesecake Factory and Wonder.
  • Don't assume an old article's partner list is current.
  • Avoid relying on gift cards or indirect payment methods without checking the account's detailed terms.

What is it actually worth?

For a planned $18 order and $10 of available credit, the direct cost falls to $8 before any additional charges. If you paid $6 more than buying the same meal elsewhere, the useful saving would be closer to $4. Compare the final basket, not just the credit.

These examples are hypothetical. Use the purchases you would have made anyway, include remaining charges, and avoid counting the same saving twice.

Common questions

Does every restaurant qualify?

No. This is a selected-partner credit.

Can I use the full $120 in one month?
